DLSU, Human Factors International partner for usability training, consulting for PHL companies


The Human Factors and Ergonomics Center of De La Salle University under the Gokongwei College of Engineering (GCOE) partnered with Human Factors International (HFI) in providing usability training and consulting to companies in the Philippines.
 
HFI well known for its "Certified Usability Analyst (CUA)" course and is the world's largest company specializing in user-centered design. It offers a wide range of public and onsite training and certification in user-centered design – teaching practical skills to ensure usability in Web sites and applications.
 
HFI’s CUA program has four courses: User-Centered Analysis and Conceptual Design, The Science and Art of effective Web Application Design, Practical Usability Testing, and Putting Research into Practice.  In addition to this, HFI’s Certified User Experience Analyst (CXA) also offers four courses: How to Design for Persuasion, Emotion, and Trust (PET Design), The PET Architect, How to Design for The Big-User-Centric Innovation and Strategy, and How to support Institutionalism of a Mature UX Practice.
 
The partnership aims to foster high standards in professionalism, integrity, and ability in the field of Usability (User Experience); provide access to continuing professional and lifelong education in major areas of User Experience competencies; upgrade the knowledge and skills of current practitioners and professionals; introduce the practice and study of User Experience and how it could be part of a dynamic career; and to show the strategic role of the profession in business, government, and industry sectors.
