UP Epsilon Chi Fraternity celebrates 50 years

The UP Epsilon Chi Fraternity was organized on 02 October 1964 in the UP College of Engineering in Diliman. Since then, a fraternity chapter and a sister sorority have been organized in UP Los Baños. Today, the Fraternity prides itself with having alumni who have excelled in their chosen fields of endeavor.

In celebration of its 50th founding anniversary, the UP Epsilon Chi Fraternity has planned and organized several activities and events that will highlight our 50th Anniversary.

• 22 September - 03 October 2014: UP Diliman

• 27 September 2014 (Saturday): Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club, Cavite

The fraternity in cooperation with the UP Barkada will have the 50th Radians Cup Invitational Golf Tournament at the Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club, Cavite. Over 150 golfers and alumni from the different fraternities in UP will play in this very prestigous event to benefit The Epsilon Chi Fraternity’s Scholarship Program. This year’s tournament will provide the much-needed financial support for the poor but academically gifted students of the UP College of Engineering. Last year’s golf tournament was instrumental in supporting the full scholarships of five (5) poor but deserving UP students. In addition, a cash incentive of Php 10,000 each was awarded to two (2) University scholars and Php 8,000 each to three (3) College scholars. To date, fifteen (15) of our scholars have graduated (one as cum laude) and are now licensed Engineers. Three years ago the tournament has helped fund the building of the UP College of Engineering Centennial Dorm with a generous Php 500,000.00 donation.

• 28 September 2014 (Sunday): UP Diliman

The EC Sports Day and Tri meet at the UP Diliman gym. A fun filled day to play basketball, softball and badminton for brods and sisses and their families from UP Diliman and UP Los Baños.

• 29th September 2014 (Monday): UP Diliman

BlocShot - Freshman Basketball Tournament is one of the most highly awaited and participated events in UP. A week-long event composed of three different basketball games: 3 on 3 Half Court Match, 3-Point Shootout, and Shooting Stars exclusive for freshman students of the UP College of Engineering.

• 02 October 2014 (Thursday): UP Diliman

Ground breaking of the UP Epsilon Chi Fraternity’s Legacy Project - A Multi-Purpose Health and Fitness Center at the Molave Residence Hall at 10:00 am, after the Thanksgiving Mass at the UP Chapel. With many guest from the UP Diliman administration and the UP President Alfredo E. Pascual and UP Chancellor Michael Lim Tan as Guest of Honor. This facility will greaty help the students not only physically but financially as funds generated will be used in the repair and maintainance of the different dormitories in the UP Diliman campus. A simple luncheon and fellowship with the brods, College of Engineering officials and professors will follow at the lobby of the UP College of Engineering (Melchor Hall) at 12:30 pm after a brief and silent motorcade at the UP Oval. At 7:00 pm The Open Tambayan - A night long get together and party with friends and family.

• 03 October 2014 (Friday): UP Diliman

Fraternity Alumni Tour of UP from 2-5pm and “Kamustahan” Fellowship at the UP Bahay ng Alumni from 5:00 pm onwards. Exclusive for fraternity members and alumni only.

• 04 October 2014 (Saturday): Makati Shangri-la
