GMA Network was a big winner in the Best TV Ad – Branded Category at the 2014 Catholic Mass Media Awards.

The branded content for KFC, “Munting Sakripisyo”, bested other entries for the first prize, while So Lucky Biscuits’ “Kahati ng Kahapon” received a special citation in the same category. Both winners were among GMA’s Christmas Short Films for 2013.

In a story told in one minute and 15 seconds, “Munting Sakripisyo” (Little Sacrifice) highlighted three values instilled among Filipino people – value of self-sacrifice, devotion to family despite hardships, and the sense of Bayanihan or Community Service. Directed by Ces Cab, the film was brought to life by Kapuso stars Kris Bernal, Barbara Miguel and Milkcah Nacion.

"Kahati ng Kahapon" (A Shared Past) is a sequel to the award-winning GMA Christmas Short Film, "Hating Kapatid "(Sharing Siblings). Leveraging on the values that the previous film started, Kahati ng Kahapon showed Nino now all grown up, but with the value of sharing deeply engrained in him simply because he was shown the same when he was a child. It was directed by Louie Ignacio and stars Kapuso artists Jak Roberto and Perla Bautista.

Since 1978, the prestigious CMMA has been giving out recognition to students, professionals, and organizations that have made use of mass communication in promoting Christian values among Filipinos.  The CMMA recognition is the latest addition to the roster of awards received by GMA’s Christmas Short Films from local and international award-giving bodies.

Now on its 9th year, GMA continues the Kapuso tradition of producing short films that touch the heart & matter to Filipino viewers. Don’t miss out on the fresh stories on the upcoming GMA Christmas Short Films starting November 15 this year.
