Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino to award best thesis and dissertation

The Commission on the Filipino Language (Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, aka KWF) is currently accepting entries for the Gawad Julian Cruz Balmaseda — a national award that aims to recognize the top academic thesis and disseration in the country written in Filipino.

 

Open to all students, teachers, professors, and members of the academe, the Commission is open until 28 November 2014 for the submission of theses and dissertations written not more than two years ago on subjects of natural science,  social science, and mathematics. The winning entries will be awarded with the Gawad Julian Cruz Balmaseda for the year 2015, a cash prize of Php 100,000, a plaque of recognition, and the chance to be published under the Commission’s book series project called “Aklat ng Bayan”.

 

The Gawad Julian Cruz Balmaseda is only one of KWF’s recently-launched projects that aim to encourage and promote the publication of unpublished works for the modernization and intellectualization of the Filipino language.
