AFP honors outstanding scholars, partners in education


CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) will honor student achievers, partner schools and foundations in the annual Stakeholders Recognition Ceremony on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the AFP Commissioned Officers Clubhouse.
 
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), General Hernando DCA Iriberri is expected to attend as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. He will be joined by the AFP Deputy Chief of Staff, MGen Edgar R Fallorina, the AFP Joint Staff, and members of the AFP Educational Benefit System (AFPEBS) Board of Trustees.
 
Dubbed as “Salute to 15 Years of Success”, the event seeks to recognize AFPEBSO’s scholars within Luzon, who excelled in the field of academics, sports, and leadership. This is part of AFPEBSO’s Student Achievement Recognition System wherein awardees are given certificates and cash incentives for their outstanding accomplishments. More than 10 students are expected to be awarded in the ceremony.
 
AFPEBSO will also honor the efforts of its partner schools, and foundations who continuously support its noble endeavor of helping military dependents achieve a brighter future through education. About 30 will be given plaque of appreciation for their unwavering support. 
 
The event will be highlighted by testimonials from a graduate scholar, parent and representative from a partner school. 
 
Moreover, the AFPEBSO will officially launch its coffee table book entitled “AFPEBS History (2000-2015)” that will commemorate its 15th founding anniversary on August 1, 2015. 
 
The AFPEBSO Management led by its Chief/General Manager, Lt Col Genaro C Menor expects a night full of celebration as it looks back and salute the numerous milestones and achievements of the office in “leaving no soldiers’ orphan behind.”  — AFP news release
