Tris goes beyond the wall in ‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 1’

The feature film adaptation of “The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 1”, the third installment of the blockbuster “Divergent”  action adventure franchise takes Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) into a new world, far more dangerous than before.  

After the earth-shattering revelations of "Insurgent", Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known.

Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

"Allegiant – Part 1" stars Golden Globe nomineeShailene Woodley, Theo James, Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, and Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts. Golden Globe nominee Jeff Daniels joins the cast. Other new cast members also include Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgård.

Returning cast members include Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Keiynan Lonsdale and Jonny Weston, as well as Mekhi Phifer and Daniel Dae Kim.

The series is based on author Veronica Roth’s New York Times best seller. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke from a screenplay by Noah Oppenheim, Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, and Stephen Chbosky.

The first two "Divergent" films have grossed more than $550 million at the global box office and are Lionsgate’s highest-grossing films domestically outside "The Hunger Games" and "Twilight" franchises.

“Allegiant – Part 1” will open across the country (Philippines) on March 9 from Pioneer Films.
