ADHD Society to hold nat'l conference October 21- 22


The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Society of the Philippines invites parents, educators and allied professionals to its 8 th National Conference on October 21- 22, 2016 at the School of Design & Arts Theatre, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLSU-CSB), School of Design & Arts Campus, P. Ocampo St. Malate, Manila.

With the theme, “Turning Disability into This Ability”, the Conference is organized and conducted by the Society in partnership with The Center of Inclusive Education of the DLSU-CSB. Foreign and local experts on ADHD, namely, Dr. Russell A. Barkley, Ph.D., a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina; and Cornelio G. Banaag, Jr., M.D., FPSCAP, FPPA , known as the “Father of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry” in the Philippines, will head the list of distinguished speakers of the Conference.

Other speakers include, Dr. Carlo Eugenio, Vergel De Dios Banaag, M.D., Dr. Joel Lazaro, M.D., Dr. Francis Dimalanta, M. D., Ms. Jenny Tapales, Ms. Carelle Mangaliag, and Dr. Rose Aligada, Ph.D, among others. For the past sixteen (16) years, the ADHD Society of the Philippines has been in the forefront in raising awareness on this neurological disorder which is estimated to affect at least 3-5% of school-aged children.

Through seminars, training workshops and media campaigns, the Filipinos are more aware that early identification and treatment of the disorder will increase the likelihood of positive long-term outcomes.
