UST, MBFI-NOTED to hold International Conference for Educators
The College of Education of the University of Santo Tomas together with the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. –Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators (MBFI-NOTED) will hold the 2nd International Conference and the 6th Tri-level Conference of Teachers and Educators from October 3 to 4 at the Century Park Hotel Manila, and on October 5 at the Paredes Building, UST.

The three-day event headed by conference chair Dean Allan B. De Guzman, Ph.D., UST College of Education and President of the MBFI-NOTED, with the theme “Teacher Quality at the Heart of Education Reforms and Movements” aims to promote high-quality teacher workforce, flexible and research-informed approaches to teacher quality, and strategic management to support good teachers and nurture teacher leadership talent.
Participants of the conference will be composed of educators from different academic levels.
The highlight will be the plenary sessions featuring notable international speakers such as Prof. Jian Wang, Ph.D., Helen Devitt Jones Endowed Chair for Teacher Education, Texas Tech University; Assoc. Professor Deborah Henderson, Ph.D., Queensland University of Technology; Ms. Anne Moran, Pro-Vice-Chancellor – Global Engagement, St. Mary’s University; Asst. Prof. Ronnel Bornasal King, Ph.D., The Education University of Hong Kong; Assistant Dean Tan Liang See, Nanyang Technological University; and Dean Hairul Nizal Ismail, Universiti Sains Malaysia.
It will also include colloquies with Metrobank Outstanding Teachers, paper presentations, poster exhibits, exhibit of Traditional Filipino Arts, World Teacher’s day celebration, and a cultural presentation from the UST Education Salamisim Dance Troupe, the St. Paul College Paranaque Pas de Tous, and the UST Junior High School Chorale.
The Conference will have three strands: Teacher Quality Measure, Teacher Quality Pressure, and Teacher Quality Treasure.
