PHA holds Independence Day Colloquium in Valenzuela City
The Philippine Historical Association (PHA) in cooperation with the Valenzuela City Cultural and Tourism Development Office will celebrate the 121st anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with a colloquium to be held at Valenzuela City Auditorium, Valenzuela City on June 14, 2019.
The event, with the theme “Si Emilio Aguinaldo sa Mata ng mga Historyador sa Iba’t Ibang Panahon”, aims to examine how Emilio Aguinaldo was viewed by Filipino historians from different periods of our history.
This is also in commemoration of the 150th birth year of the President of the First Philippine Republic from 1899-1901.
The experts that will give their respective lectures are Dr. Ricardo T. Jose (UP Diliman), Dr. Reynaldo Ileto (Australian National University), Dr. Emmanuel Franco Calairo (DLSU- Dasmarinas) and Dr. Ma. Luisa Camagay (UP Diliman).
Previous colloquia were held at Aguinaldo Shrine, Kawit, Cavite (2007); Casa Real Shrine, Malolos, Bulacan (2008); National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Manila (2010); University of Batangas, Batangas City (2011); Kalinga Apayao State College, Tabuk City, Kalinga (2012); National Commission for Culture and the Arts (2015); Gateway Gallery (2017).
The event is open to the public. Registration is free.
