Fil-Canadians celebrate PHL Independence Day with Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes
GMA Network’s flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV brings Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes to headline the back-to-back celebrations of the 121st Philippine Independence Day in Canada.
On June 22, Dingdong will join the festivities with the Kapuso abroad at the Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show Toronto, which will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Hall. From various performances featuring local talents, Santacruzan parades, beauty pageants, to colorful booths with over 100 Filipino-Canadian exhibitors, the whole-day event showcases Filipino culture, arts, heritage, and charity.

The annual community celebration is the biggest indoor Filipino fiesta in Canada and is organized by the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF). Tickets are sold for $15 each for adults while entrance is FREE for kids under 10 years old and new immigrants who are staying in the country for less than two years.
GMA partner-carriers Bell and Rogers in East Canada will also be present in the event. Attendees who wish to subscribe to GMA's International channels - GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International may visit their booth during the event or contact them in the following information:

The event will also mark the first Canada-wide commemoration of the Filipino Heritage Month. Set to happen at the Vancouver Art Gallery beginning 10 a.m., this year’s theme is "Philippines: Islands of Festival." Filipino-Canadians will get to enjoy three major Philippine festivals, fashion shows, and a gala night to cap off the event. Admission is FREE.

Dingdong, who will return to Canada after the successful GMA Pinoy TV-produced concert ‘Sikat Ka Kapuso!’ last year, shared how much he enjoys the company of Pinoys abroad. “Whenever I’m with our Kapuso abroad, I always feel at home. Nothing beats the heart-warming feeling of celebrating the Philippine Independence Day with fellow Filipinos and I’m really excited to spend this important occasion with them,” says the Kapuso star.
GMA Pinoy TV is the exclusive media sponsor for both events as it continues to provide world-class entertainment for the Kapuso abroad and at the same time help them reconnect with their kababayans and feel closer to home.
“Nobody celebrates fiesta like us Filipinos. With the activities held by our Kapuso abroad in partnership with GMA Pinoy TV, we hope that we will be able to bring a piece of home to our kababayans and make them even more proud that they are Filipino,” says GMA First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T Francia.
