Upsilon to hold webinar on voter registration, education on July 23, 2021

The Upsilon Sigma Phi Philippines Alumni Association will hold a webinar on July 23 as regards  the importance of voter registration and choosing the best leaders for our country in the 2022 elections.

The main speaker at the webinar dubbed "Alam ng Isa, Alam ng Lahat" will be former Commission on Elections Commissioner Atty. Gregorio Larrazabal who will also discuss the value of registering for next year's local and national elections.

“The sanctity of the ballot and the youth’s involvement are very important as these will be the foundation of their future,” Atty. Larrazabal said. The former Comelec will discuss the value of exercising the civic duty of voting.

Those interested to join the webinar scheduled at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. may register at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/alam-ng-isa-alam-ng-lahat-the-2022-national-and-local-elections-webinar-tickets-163352436535?fbclid=IwAR3sajhcxHS2oURGBm6Hcm9pKAJRzjMUOczommU44XbQV-vV8r2eu6qfmmM

Data from the Commission on Elections show there are still an estimated two million unregistered voters, a population dominated by the youth sector.

The reactors will include UP Student Regent Renee Louise Co, UPLB USC Chair Sigfried Severino and UP Mindanao USC Chair Andryc Carbonilla.

UP College of Law Dean Carlo Vistan will be the moderator.

Larrazabal is known to be the youngest to have held the position back in 2009.

Before serving as commissioner, he was Comelec's Provincial Supervisor, then Regional Director assigned in the different provinces in Region III, Region V, Region VIII, and the ARMM.

After attending as Regional Director, he was later instated as the President of COMELEC Regional Election Directors Organization. —NB, GMA News
