2 more suspects in Pinay’s death in Brunei nabbed


Two suspects in the brutal killing of a 40 year-old Filipino woman three weeks ago were arrested by the Brunei police. The victim was found dead in Kampong Belimbing in Brunei Darussalam, the Borneo Bulletin Online reported Thursday. The two suspects were identified as Avelino Lumombang and Merlyn Lumomambang, both Filipino nationals, were brought to the Bandar Magistrate's Court to face murder charges in killing the victim, identified only as “Jovita." Five other suspects were arrested and are now detained by the police. They were identified as Arsenia Bayamban, Josephine Ruster, Aeron Legunsan, Noel De La Cruz, Susan Maligaya (all Filipino nationals), and a local Hj Omar bin Hj Salleh. The suspects were charged for conspiring to kill Jovita on January 27, 2006. On Wednesday, all suspects were presented before the office of senior magistrate Radin Safiee Radin Mas Basuni. Deputy public prosecutor Hj Nabil Daraina bin Pehin Dato Hj Badaruddin said the suspects must be detained at Jerudong prison for two weeks for further investigation.-GMANEWS.TV
