Amulet fails to protect farmer who has his head cut off

An amulet that was supposed to confer invincibility on whoever who wears it failed to protect a farmer who was beheaded by a group of men in Negros Occidental over the weekend. After cutting his head off, the suspects brought the severed part to police in a plastic bag, radio dzXL reported on Monday. The beheading took place at two in the afternoon on Saturday at Matab-ang Sitio in Masaling Bayan village in Cauayan, belated police reports said. The report said the victim belonged to a local cult that was believed invincible because of the amulet. Investigation showed the victim was sitting outside his house when suspects Michael Tapang, Roger Kata-kata, at Joecel Mainit lunged at him. They first hit him in the head with a bottle, then slashed his throat, then repeatedly stabbed him in the neck until he was decapitated. The suspects said they did not believe the farmer would die until they beheaded him. — RJAB Jr./RSJ, GMANews.TV
