Past meets future as National Museum partners with iSchools

The iSchools Project, which is spearheading the government’s computerization program in the education sector, has collaborated with the National Museum to share the country’s historical and cultural materials to Filipino students. The partnership was pursued under iSchools’ Content Mapping Initiative, which seeks to map out academic content that would be distributed among public high schools. The National Museum, through education division head Elenita Alba, extended to iSchools relevant materials in numerous subject areas (math, science, Philippine literature, etc.). The partnership has resulted in two successful content review sessions, as well as the training of representatives from the National Museum and National Historical Commission of the Philippines in writing and multimedia utilization. The National Museum also loaned of more than 600 titles of educational multimedia materials. The loaned multimedia educational materials are to be digitized by the iSchools Project and will be uploaded to a website. — Newsbytes.ph
