LinkedIn releases Windows Phone app

Business networking site LinkedIn has released an app for devices running Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, a tech site reported late Monday. A report on The Next Web said the app that LinkedIn quietly released for Windows Phone 7.5 appeared “really fast and gorgeous,” but not without some bugs. “LinkedIn was one of the major social networks without a native Windows Phone app. The company, which boasts over 150 million members worldwide, managed to keep the file size of the app to below 1MB and the price at zero dollars,” it said. It added the app uses Windows Phone’s Metro UI and live tiles capabilities, adding the app appeared to be “super responsive.” However, The Next Web said there are some bugs such as the app repeatedly telling the user an Internet connection is unavailable. The site also noted scrolling lists “also feels a bit quirky at times.” Still, it said the app is getting “mostly rave reviews” on the Windows Phone Marketplace. — LBG, GMA News
