Chrome extension brings Instagram and Twitter back together again
Can't see your Instagram photos on Twitter? It's Google's Chrome —or rather, a Google Chrome extension— to the rescue!
An extension for the Chrome browser dubbed InstaTwit works in the background to display Instagram images on one's Twitter timeline, The Next Web reported.
This should help solve for now the problem caused by Instagram withdrawing support for Twitter cards, such that Instagram images are no longer displayed on Twitter.
“There’s nothing secret here: it scans the tweet text when you click to 'open a card.' If it sees an Instagram link, it figures out the photo URL, and injects it right into the card,” it quoted Michael Schonfeld, the extension's developer, as saying.
With the extension, all a user has to do is click "expand."
The downside, however, is that the feature is available only for Chrome users, for now.
Schonfeld also said that while Instagram could change its URL structure to defeat his extension, "I would just update my extension…and that will fix it right back.” — TJD, GMA News
