Updated Facebook app lets you select album to upload photos to
Facebook users on the go can now have an easier time uploading photos to specific albums, after the social networking site rolled out an update to its app for Android and iOS.
The new Facebook app streamlines the process of uploading a photo to an album preferred by the user, according to a report on tech site CNET.
“During the photo upload process, you will see a new album icon. Tapping on it will reveal the Facebook photo albums, allowing you to choose which album to upload the photo to. It’s that simple,” it said. But one difference between the iOS and Android versions is that iOS users will have the ability to add a photo or photos to an existing album, or create a new album during the upload process.
Android users will only be able to upload photos to an existing album, though they can create an album beforehand by visiting the Photos tab from the menu and tapping on the plus sign.
“It’s an extra step, but with the same end result,” CNET said.
Updated app for Android speedier
A separate article on CNET said the Facebook Android version 2.0 is "faster than ever before."
"Facebook for Android version 2.0 is officially out and apparently, it blows previous versions out of the water, speed-wise," it said. It said Facebook claims the new version is "twice as fast at displaying photos and Timeline items."
Facebook also said the new app will be rolling out to Google Play, the marketplace for Android apps.
The app will also be available via a link to the app texted directly to one's device through Facebook's Mobile site, CNET added. — ELR, GMA News
