Rihanna sex video scam goes viral on Facebook

Facebook users have been warned against falling for a new scam claiming to offer a sex video of international artist Rihanna.

Security vendor Sophos said many messages have been appearing across the social network as "event invitations."

"Facebook's security team is blocking the links as they have been reported as malicious, but it's always possible that whoever is behind this scam could use another disguise to try to waltz past that protection," Sophos said in a blog post.

It said the message attracts attention with the line, "I lost all respect for her after watching this [LINK]."

The message has a URL shortener that may send the user to surveys or install malware on the victims' computers.

"Scams like this only spread because of human's natural curiousity and desire to watch a sleazy celebrity sex video," Sophos said.

It advised victims to make sure that any remnants of surveys are removed from their newsfeeds, and to "delete any messages or events you may have inadvertently shared with your friends." — TJD, GMA News
