Tweeps be warned: May 7 is kill date for all Tweetdeck apps

Twitter has set May 7 as a kill date for its TweetDeck apps for Google's Android, Apple's iOS and AIR, along with Facebook integration, a tech site reported Saturday (Manila time).

According to The Next Web, this was a follow-up to Twitter's announcement last March that it will kill off TweetDeck AIR and TweetDeck for Android and iPhone.

"At the time they gave a general ‘early May’ estimate, but today they’ve nailed down the date that they’ll actually go dark: May 7th," it said.

Facebook integration to all TweetDeck products will also get shut off, it added.

"Popular iPhone Twitter app Tweetbot is most likely going to be the biggest recipient of traffic from ousted TweetDeck folks on iOS, with popular options on Android including Carbon and Hootsuite," it added.

But for now, The Next Web quoted Twitter as saying TweetDeck for Mac and PC will "stick around for now, and closely follow the feature updates that the Web and Chrome versions of the app debut."
