Get wood, give wood: Watch porn and save the trees at the same time

Want to save the environment? Go watch some porn. No, really.

 

A porn website is offering to plant a tree for every 100 of its videos viewed by visitors for Arbor Day, a holiday encouraging people to plant and care for trees.

 

"This Arbor Day, Pornhub will do what it does best and give America some serious wood by donating one tree for every 100 videos viewed ... The more videos that are viewed, the more trees we will plant!" Pornhub said in a relatively safe-for-work webpage.

 

Arbor Day usually falls on the last Friday of April.

 

As of late afternoon Tuesday (PHL time), the site said it has already committed to planting over 12,000 trees.

 

Meanwhile, The Daily Dot said that this isn't the first time that Pornhub—which specializes in streaming videos—has done holiday-themed promotions: earlier promos included unlimited free mobile access.

 

However, The Daily Dot added that it was not clear "where the trees will be planted, or what environmental organization the company plans to work with."

 

For its part, Time said the high number of trees planted showed "people on the Internet do love the environment."
