Spot something different with Twitter? Yup, it's the font

Users of Twitter may expect to see another change to the microblogging site when they log in via their web browsers starting Saturday.

Twitter changed the primary font for its messages, less than a week after rolling out a Facebook-like profile to all its users.

"Starting today, we're rolling out a new font on http://twitter.com , moving from Helvetica Neue to Gotham," Twitter support said in a tweet dated 5:45 a.m. Saturday, PHL time.

A separate report on The Next Web said the change is "certainly noticeable, but still not much of a departure."

But another tech site, Engadget, said not all are happy with the switch.

Engadget quoted some tweeps saying the new look was "cheap and amateurish" and others who said it was "very unkind for those with impaired sight."

"Stop right there you little Facebook wannabe. We liked you the way you were! You're SO much better than Facebook. Stop," said another Engadget quoted.  — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
