On day of mourning, netizens grieve for Fallen 44 through profile pictures
As the whole nation grieved for the 44 officers of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force who were killed in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, netizens joined in the mourning by changing their profile pictures.
Some changed their profile pics to statements demanding for #TruthForTheFallen44.
Others modified their profile pictures to mourn for the Fallen 44, with some turning their pictures to plain black.

The social media accounts of GMA News, GMA Network's flagship AM station DZBB, and GMA's public safety campaign I M Ready, as well as reporters and personalities of GMA News and Public Affairs also changed their profile pictures to black and white.
