Facebook shoots and scores with hidden basketball game in Messenger

Earlier this month, Facebook added a hidden basketball mini-game to its Messenger app in celebration of March Madness in the United States NCAA tournament.

The mini-game was made available to users who installed the latest version of the app.

The basketball game starts when a user sends a basketball emoji to a contact, who could begin the game by pressing the ball.

The users are then taken to a screen with a ball and a hoop outside their conversation. The players can then swipe up to shoot the ball from different angles into the hoop at the center of the screen.
