Create your printable Eleksyon 2016 kodigo at GMA News Online
GMA News Online has launched a MyKodigo tool to make it easy for voters to choose their candidates.
The Commission on Elections encourages voters to bring to polling precincts on election day their own kodigo or personal list of the candidates they want to vote for.
Using the MyKodigo tool on GMA News Online, voters can get a printable list of their chosen national and local candidates.
Users can fill up digital versions of actual ballots on the site by clicking on the names of their chosen candidates.
Once they are done, they can print out a simple form that lists the names of their preferred candidates.
Depending on the number of candidates in their district, the kodigo can be printed using one to two pages of 8.5” x 11” paper.
GMA New Media Inc., the network's technology arm focusing on convergent applications for mobile, web, and digital TV, developed the app according to Comelec guidelines
Michaela Agcaoili, Vice President for Web and Mobile Operations of NMI, noted that mobile phones and sample ballots from candidates or political parties are not allowed inside polling precincts on election day. Thus, having a printout of one's chosen political bets can simplify the voting process.
“We are helping them vote faster with the MyKodigo tool,” Agcaoili said. “Ahead of time, they can already choose the candidates they want to vote for. Then they can bring the printout to the polling precincts on election day.”
Agcaoili said the My Kodigo tool is part of GMA Network's effort to support voters at every step of the voting process: from choosing candidates to finding their precincts to monitoring results.
The tool can be accessed using desktop computers and mobile phones at www.gmanews.tv/mykodigo
The MyKodigo tool is not a Comelec project. The responses or results generated by the My Kodigo service will not be saved or used by GMA in any way. —JST, GMA News
