Facebook's PHL flag gaffe received with humor by Netizens
In Internet parlance: "Welp!"
The day started with good intentions when Facebook extending greetings to Filipinos celebrating the country's 118th Independence Day...however, they accidentally declared war.
Netizens took the gaffe in stride though and, although people get their history mixed up sometimes, Filipinos everywhere took notice.

The Philippine flag is actually unique in that it is the only flag in the world that is displayed differently during wartime—red side up instead of the usual peaceful blue on top.

Fun fact: The flag was actually raised with the red side up from 1899 to 1901 after the country declared independence on 1898 because of the Philippine-American war. It was red side up again from 1936 to 1945 during World War II.
