China responds to int'l tribunal ruling with techno music video
The Chinese state media and nationalistic citizens have collaborated to very clearly share their indifference to landmark ruling of the international arbitral tribunal favoring the Philippines on Tuesday.
With the aid of techno music and vaguely worrying images of missiles being launched, Chinese nationals shrugged off the ruling in favor of the Philippines. They punctuated their apathy with the phrase "Who cares?"
Aside from the missiles, the video also includes two women in fatigues stabbing the air with knives and a man wearing a giant bear head.
The video was posted by Beijing-based nationalistic outlet dooo.cc and Qing Wei Studios, reuploaded on YouTube by the Hong Kong Free Press.
The Hong Kong Free Press also reported about other "indignant" responses from the Chinese state media, including that of The Global Times. The state-run paper used a screen capture of bunnies saying that "paper that we have not signed is poop in a bathroom" to express their feelings.
