Twitter launches special emoji to celebrate #AlDub1stAnniversary

Social media platform Twitter joins the celebration of AlDub's first anniversary on July 16 through a special heart emoji.

Starting 12:00 pm on Saturday, two hands forming a heart will appear alongside the hashtag #AlDub1stAnniversary. This is the first time that a customized emoji has been created for a TV show in Southeast Asia.

Aside from the record-making 41 million tweets for #AlDubEBTamangPanahon on October 24, the phenomenal pairing also contributed to an over 200% increase in Eat Bulaga!'s official Twitter account—from 880,000 to 2.72 million.

AlDub continues to trend daily and just recently, the pairing generated 7.8 million tweets as their fans eagerly waited for the grand premiere of their movie "Imagine Me & You." —Aya Tantiangco/JST, GMA News
