Meet the ‘dashing’ first responders of Hotline 911
The Department of Interior and Local Government recently launched its newest emergency hotline number 911, but as motivation to properly use the hotline, what if these dashing police officers are your first responders?
A photo posted on the Facebook page 911 Philippines Supporters showed (from left) Police Officer 1 Don Mcgyver Cochico, Police Office 2 Mariano Perez Flormata Jr., and Police Inspector Sofia Loren Deliu seemingly ready to serve, protect, and respond to any emergency concerns.
Perez and Deliu flanked Sr. Supt. Gilbert Cruz, acting director of the Police Community Relations Group.
Perez won the Mister International 2014 crown, while Cochico claimed the Manhunt International Philippines 2015 title, and Deliu was once a candidate of Miss Philippines-Earth.
But more than the pageantry, these police officers are not just for PRs of the PNP.
Perez is a member of the PNP-Aviation Security Group, while Cochico is assignmed at the PNP Crime Laboratory-Polygraph Division.
And Deliu? Well, this beaty queen and ramp model serves and protects no less than President Rodrigo Duterte in the Presidential Security Group.
Although the Facebook page is not officially managed by the PNP, the trio's portrait still received more than 3,500 reactions, 140 comments, and more than 300 shares as of posting time.
Officially launched on August 1, the national hotline number was changed from 117 to 911 as the country's emergency hotline service.
The DILG rolled out an additional 8888 hotline for public service complaints.
Meanwhile, the number of slain drug suspects in police anti-illegal drug operations rose to over 900 cases since Duterte took office.
And the 911 Philippines Supporters has another idea – would drug suspects be more willing to voluntarily surrender to Perez and Cochico?
Since its posting on Wednesday, the duo's photo beside a police patrol vehicle received more than 32,000 reactions, 17,300 shares, and more than 5,400 comments. — RSJ, GMA News
