Steve Harvey apologizes for ‘offending anyone’ with jokes about Asian men
Host Steve Harvey recently steered into controversy after a segment from his talk show went viral. The video showed Harvey in a fit of laughter over the thought of women being attracted to Asian men.
"You like Asian men? I don’t even like Chinese food… I don’t eat what I can’t pronounce," Harvey joked.
But on Tuesday, he took to Twitter to issue an apology as criticism from Asian-Americans grew.
"I offer my humblest apology for offending anyone, particularly those in the Asian community, last week," he wrote. "It was not my intention and the humor was not meant with any malice or disrespect whatsoever."

Prior to the note being posted on Twitter, The Hollywood Reporter disclosed that Harvey made a reference to the incident when he met with the press and said people have been "beating me up on the internet for no reason."
The Miss Universe Organization has announced that Harvey will be returning to host the 65th Miss Universe pageant despite the fiasco in 2015, when Harvey erroneously announced Miss Colombia as the winner.
Businessman Luis Chavit Singson, who has invested a large sum in staging the pageant in the Philippines, said that he has full confidence in Harvey as a host. — RSJ, GMA News
