This Jackie Chan tribute will move you to tears
Hong Kong martial arts expert and actor Jackie Chan is undeniably one of the most prolific artists in the past decade. More than his 200 films, his eight generations of “brothers” from the Jackie Chan Stunt Team—also known as the Jackie Chan's Stuntmen Association—prove that his legacy will live on forever.
Celebrating Chan's 56 years in film, some of the original members of the stunt team organized an emotional tribute for him.
“We all have this spirit—if the stunt doesn't kill us, we carry on. Even until now,” said one of the members in a recorded video.
Another one added, “It doesn't matter how good you are, if you are not benevolent towards your brothers, Jackie would not let you join the team.
What Chan thought was just a video tribute from his brothers turned out to be a more elaborate plan that reunited some of the members of the first generation of his very own stunt team, which was extablished in 1976, to stand with him on stage.
Watch the viral video, with over 7 million views, and try holding back the tears:
After an emotional reunion, Chan said, “It has been a challenging forty years. Many things are dispensable to me. My company has folded before, but the JC Stunt Team has persevered until the end. There was a period when operation was immensely difficult, but today, we are on our eight generation.”
“It has been a truly tough forty years. I hope that the team, even without Jackie Chan, will still work as a team to continue allowing Chinese wushu moves to radiate and shine,” he concluded.
