One of the many victims of secret Facebook groups sharing lewd photos of women came out on Wednesday to detail the harassment she has been receiving online.
In a report by Susan Enriquez on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, 20-year-old "Marie" said she has been receiving friend requests from strangers and inappropriate messages through her social media accounts.
She later discovered that her photos were shared in a Facebook group called "Bible study ni Pastor Asiong New Testament".
"Mga pastor, tulungan po natin siya. Bagong graduate. Fresh. 22 years old. 5k 2pops. Makati City," one of the posts said.
Her name, location and phone number were posted on four different groups of the same nature.
The next day, Marie took her complaint to authorities.
The Philippine National Police anti-cybercrime unit promised to take action in tracing the accounts responsible.
"Magre-request tayo, kung ma-grant 'yung request natin kay Facebook, mas maganda, at least magkaroon tayo ng lead kung 'san nag-start 'yung pag-capture 'nung picture mo na nagamit sa, ano, Hokage," the officer at the complaint desk said. —Margaret Claire Layug/JST, GMA News
