Viral encounter at LBC is a reminder to take a chill pill

Over 8 million people viewed a video of a stressful altercation at an LBC in Porta Vaga Mall, Baguio City.

The video, taken on September 25 and uploaded by Deborah Guzman on September 26, starts in the middle of an exchange between an employee at the counter and older customer.

The employee is tending to other customers in line and the older customer is reminding her that senior citizens should be a priority.

In response, she said, "Dapat, sir, pagka-ano sabihin po niyo agad na senior citizen kayo."

The older customer asserted his right and questioned the store's policies, replying, "Ganiyan ba ang serbisyo niyo? Kailangan itutok lahat?"

The teller continues processing documents from the current customer, which prompts the older customer to say, "Ayaw mong tapusin e!"

At this point another customer butts in and things escalate to the point where the older customer walks out of the store.

LBC on Tuesday released a statement, apologizing for the incident and assuring the public that they are coordinating with the parties involved in their investigation.

"Tinitiyak namin sa LBC na mahalaga ang aming mga customers, lalo na ang mga senior citizens. Tangi naming hangad ay mabigyan lahat ng de-kalibreng serbisyo sa lahat ng pagkakataon," the statement read.

The incident is also a great reminder for people to brush up on relaxation techniques and remain civil if not calm when tension begins to rise. The medium is the message, so say it nice and you won't have to say it twice. — AT/LA, GMA News
