Chief Hopper says 'Happy Birthday' to kid whose Stranger Things-themed party got snubbed by classmates

No less than Hawkins police chief Jim Hopper came to a 12-year-old boy's rescue after his classmates failed to turn up at his Netflix series Stranger Things-themed birthday party.

In a video on the series' official Facebook page, American actor David Harbour, who plays Hopper in the show, greets Aaron Salambat a happy birthday, Filipino party game style.

Aaron's older sister Ayen first turned to Twitter after her little brother's party—complete with a Stranger Things-themed cake, strings of Christmas lights, and even Demagorgon blood juice—got snubbed by eight of his classmates.

"My brother invited 8 of his classmates for his stranger things themed bday party & none of their punk selves showed up," tweeted Ayen, who according to her account lives in California in the United States, on March 18.

Thousands of likes and retweets after, the tweet reached the Stranger Things stars themselves—and Aaron may just have a much, much happier birthday next year.

Teen actress Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the show, was sympathetic and wanted passes to 2019's party.

"What!!!!  Oh Well You can let them all know that everyone on behalf on Stranger things would’ve come! I think your awesome and next year I would like an invite... Please?" she tweeted around two days after Ayen first posted her brother's birthday photos.

Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson, offered a chocolate pudding pledge.

"Count me in too!  I’ll bring the chocolate pudding," he tweeted.

As of this writing, Ayen's tweet has been retweeted 63,000 times and liked by 293,000 users.  —Nicole-Anne C. Lagrimas/KG, GMA News
