US Embassy personnel try balut, other Pinoy food
American personnel of the United States Embassy in Manila had a taste of some of the famous delicacies of the Philippines.
In a video uploaded on the Embassy's Facebook account on Thursday, Americans seemed to love the taste and texture of Dumaguete's popular dessert, silvanas.
They also tried Bacolod's pride, the Chicken Inasal, a roasted chicken that is marinated in herbs and sauces. A man in the video even likened it to the United States' rotisserie chicken.
But for Pateros' balut... they had mixed reactions.
One can't even look at the famous Filipino street food while another seemed to enjoy eating it.
"There are so many different regions that kind of specialize, but it's just a wide variety of food, and it's all so good and so rich," one of them said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/JST, GMA News
