PNP cybercrime group finds 71 ‘maliciously created’ FB accounts using Ateneo boy’s name

At least 71 accounts bearing the name of a student caught bullying another boy have sprouted on Facebook, the Philippine National Police's Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) said.

ACG director Chief Superintendent Marni Marcos Jr. told GMA  News Online on Sunday that that these 71 accounts were "maliciously created," based on their team’s analysis.

“As I’ve reported yesterday, there were 71 *name of the bully* accounts with same profile pictures. And as per analysis, these were maliciously created,” Marcos said in a text message.

“As of now, we have no specific policy on fake accounts,” he added.

The Ateneo de Manila junior high school student became a target of netizens after a video of him taunting, punching and kicking another student inside a comfort room went viral on social media.

On Sunday, the school announced that the student has been dismissed.
