In the timelapse of the map, the areas where the elections were tweeted about glowed blue.
The hashtags that were monitored included #Eleksyon2019, #Eleksiyon2019, #VotePH2019, and #Halalan2019.
Of course, the online discussion was largely centered in the Philippines, but it also reached all kinds of places from all over the world.
While the conversation was kept alive throughout Election Day, the Twitter world seemed to have exploded at around 6:20 p.m., shortly after the polls closed and initial results went live.
The conversation tapered off as the day ended, but the map showed the topic was still trending until midnight. — LA, GMA News
