Maine Mendoza continues to dominate Twitter, as the social media platform revealed the country's trending moments of 2019.

Maine bagged the Most Tweeted About Account and Most Tweeted About Hashtag of 2019, while Alden Richards was on the fourth spot of both categories.

As 2019 comes to a close, Filipinos have proven that Twitter is the place to go to see #WhatsHappening in Pinoy entertainment scene.

Alden's blockbuster film with Kathryn Bernardo, "Hello Love Goodbye" meanwhile took the 10th spot of the Most Tweeted hashtag.

According to Twitter, sports played a huge role in shaping Philippine culture in 2019.

The top three Most Tweeted sports-related hashtags were from this year's UAAP season: #UPFight, #OBF and #UAAPVolleyballFinals.

The Most Tweeted sports-related accounts in the Philippines are NBA, Gretchen Ho, Los Angeles Lakers, Alyssa Valdez, and Lebron James.

Sports also play a big role in shaping the Philippine culture. The most anticipated events this year are UAAP season, boxing matches and NBA games. Claiming the first spot is #UPFight!

The video showed a girl's parents showing appreciation to their daughter as she sang, which displayed the culture of Filipinos of being family-oriented.

This year, a pair of sisters took over Twitter.
