Empty streets of Makati captured in cinematic video

As Luzon continues to be under enhanced community quarantine, previously busy streets have become empty as everyone stays indoors to avoid catching the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The lack of people and vehicles roaming around can allow us to see our cities in a new light.

For instance, Makati City, the financial capital of the Philippines, was captured on video looking very different without the usual bustling pace of life.

"This is what Makati feels like now," said Vir, a photographer who shot the video and shared it on Facebook.

"Finally I was able to compile all the snippets I took around Makati as I walk and drive around the area to buy my daily needs," he said. "Most shots are taken from the roof deck of the condo where I live in."

Only a few people, some in motorcycles and bicycles, can be seen in the areas around Ayala Avenue and the Central Business District.

The video has nearly 300,000 views, 35,000 likes, and over 27,000 shares as of this writing. --MGP, GMA News
