Valenzuela City residents follow social distancing while getting food packs

Valenzuela City residents have shown discipline in following social distancing rules as they redeemed food packs from the local government.

In a photo shared by Mayor Rex Gatchalian on Twitter, the residents were seen properly lined up as they wait for their turn to get relief packs.

According to  Gatchalian, all of their 3s Centers in the city are implementing the same system.

"Sa lahat ng 3s Centers natin, kung saan nagreredeem ngayon ang ating mga kababayan ng food packs nila (24 3s Centers - City hall annex) iisa lang ang eksena!" said the mayor.

"Valenzuela May Disiplina! Salamat po sa inyong lahat...pero hindi pa po eto tapos sana tuloy tuloy po na ganito," he added.

Last week, Valenzuela set up modular tents and military cot beds in two isolation centers to handle cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19.)

President Rodrigo Duterte placed Luzon on enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of the virus.

According to the quarantine guidelines released by the Palace, only one person per household is allowed to go outside to buy necessities.

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed 90 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday afternoon, bringing the total number of infections in the Philippines to 552 with 35 deaths and 20 recoveries. --Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
