Koko Pimentel slammed online for accompanying wife to hospital despite being PUI for COVID-19
Koko Pimentel, the second senator to test positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), was slammed online after he admitted accompanying his wife to the hospital on Tuesday night night despite being a person under investigation for the disease.
According to the senator, he took the COVID-19 test on Friday, and only received the results late on Tuesday evening, while he was in the hospital with his wife, Kathryna, who is due to give birth.
Netizens were quick to slam the senator for breaching quarantine guidelines and putting the lives of other people in danger knowing he could be a carrier of the disease.
Kathryna has already denied they entered the hospital's delivery room, but by then, her husband's name has already appeared in over 13,000 tweets, topping Philippine Twitter trends.
Shame on you, Koko Pimentel! You put doctors and the sick in danger. A PUI not revealing his status was the reason a doctor died a few days ago. How can our senators be so callous, irresponsbible and self-centered? Disgusting!

Remember that Koko Pimentel went to a hospital delivery room and put the health of doctors and other patients at risk when he knew the whole time that he's COVID-19+ /had symptoms and was awaiting results. Whichever's true, he must be held accountable.
Koko Pimentel's actions have disgraced the Senate, violated the government's own directives, and endangered other people's lives.

Such careless and arrogant behavior is more dangerous than any virus. I join calls for him to apologize and immediately resign.
PUIs like Koko Pimentel should have stated at home > The Makati Medical Center reminds the public about the Mandatory reporting of notifiable diseases and health events of public concern act also known as Republic Act 11332. #covid19ph #luzonlockdown pic.twitter.com/mJ6au2j7Nt

Koko Pimentel, you had yourself tested for COVID19 — and then breached quarantine guidelines? You visited a very public, very vulnerable place, without knowing the results of your test? https://t.co/xaqTolWHcj pic.twitter.com/MRR7PKa0ur

Before Pimentel, Senator Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri tested positive for COVID-19.
Zubiri was one of the senators who went into self-quarantine after it was found out that one of the resource persons in a March 5 senate hearing tested positive for COVID-19.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the Department of Health stated that there has been a total number of 552 cases of infections in the Philippines with 35 deaths and 20 recoveries. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
