Medical staff celebrate 59-year-old woman's recovery from COVID-19
A 59-year-old woman who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been nursed back to health.
The patient, who was Biñan, Laguna's first-ever confirmed case, was released from the Unihealth Southwoods Hospital and Medical Center on Sunday (March 29, 2020), four days after her birthday.
To celebrate her recovery, the medical staff waited for the lola at the hospital elevators and sent her off with a warm round of applause.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), the country’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,418 as of Sunday, as more tests were being conducted.
The 59-year-old lady is so far one of 42 people who have been able to recover from the disease.?
