How I Met Your Mother's Robin Scherbatsky is back with a quarantine parody
Cobie Smulders has revived her "How I Met Your Mother" character Robin Scherbatsky — more specifically her secret persona Robin Sparkles — for a funny and timely quarantine song.
The Canadian actress performed a parody of Robin's song "Let's Go to the Mall," updating it to "Let's All Stay at Home" with new lyrics from show creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays.
The original co-composer of the song, Brian Kim, returned to compose the parody for Smulders to play.
"It was a wonderful journey down memory lane," Smulders said in her post.
In "How I Met Your Mother," her character Robin Scherbatsky was forever haunted by her past stint as a pop star who went by the name Robin Sparkles. In Season 2, the gang discovers her secret when they find an old video of her performing "Let's Go to the Mall."
Smulder encouraged willing viewers to donate to charities such as Save the Children US, CanadaHelps, and Daily Bread Food Bank.
She also said, "I hope it takes your mind off some things. It certainly did for me!"
