Nickelodeon goes off air for same duration as George Floyd’s assault by police officer

Nickelodeon has gone off air for almost nine minutes in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter protest.

On Monday, 5 p.m. Pacific Time, or Tuesday, 8 a.m. Philippine Time, the children’s television network paused its scheduled programming for exactly eight minutes and 46 seconds, the same amount of time Minneapolis Police Department officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee on George Floyd’s neck as the latter repeatedly begged, “I can't breathe.”
