#KPopTwitter 2020: Philippines takes 4th spot by tweet volume

It looks like the Philippine K-pop fandom is among the strongest in the world — at least according to data released by Twitter and K-Pop Radar.

To celebrate the 10-year #KPopTwitter success as well as to showcase the trends of global K-Pop communities, the two organizations release data for #KPopTwitter that showed the Philippines ranks 4th in 20 markets in terms of tweet volume.

Aside from tweet volume, the Philippines is on the 5th spot among 20 markets, trailing behind USA, Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia in terms of unique voices on Twitter.

The Top 10 most mentioned K-Pop artists in the Philippines include BTS, Blackpink, EXO, TXT, TWICE, GOT7, SEVENTEEN, Stray kids, iKON, and IZ*ONE.

Among the most mentioned songs in the Philippines include "Obsession" by EXO, #ON by BTS, " "Boy With Luv" by BTS, "How You Like That" by Blackpink, "Black Swan" by BTS, "Feel Special" by TWICE, "Shadow" by BTS, "DNA" by BTS, "Fake Love" by BTS, and "Kill This Love" by Blackpink.

Meanwhile, some of the fastest-rising K-Pop arists in the Philippines include TXT, Stray Kids, IZ*ONE, ITZY, ATEEZ, SuperM,  WayV, THE BOYZ, LOONA, and CIX.

According to a statement, the love for K-Pop remained strong despite the pandemic with over 6.1 billion tweets related to K-Pop in the past 12 months worldwide. — LA, GMA News
