Olivia Culpo explains confused face during the announcement of 69th Miss Universe winners

Olivia Culpo, who was co-hosting the 69th Miss Universe with actor Mario Lopez, has explained her viral and "meme-able" confused face during the announcement of winners at the pageant last Monday.

On her Instagram Stories, the Miss Universe 2012 queen shared a screenshot of the moment where her eyebrows creased while she was reading the results.

Her viral facial reaction was captured when she announced Peru's Janick Maceta del Castillo as the 2nd Runner Up.

"I don’t think I have ever concentrated so hard on reading in my life than when announcing the winner of Miss Universe this weekend. I was so terrified of reading the wrong country," Olivia wrote on her IG Story.

"Apparently, I need to work on my reading face and I’m sorry if this was misinterpreted in any type of way," she added.

Netizens made memes and guesses on what Olivia might have been thinking during that moment with others saying she was surprised that Peru only paced 2nd Runner Up.

However, Olivia swears that she was just "concentrating on the words."

"Every girl was beautiful and most importantly sweet and kind," she wrote.

The American beauty queen also made memes out of the screenshot and posted them on her Instagram Stories followed by her explanation.

Last Monday, Olivia also trended on Twitter while co-hosting the pageant after viewers noticed her lackluster energy.

Netizens have been posting hilarious memes on Twitter relating to her "mood" during the pageant.

Olivia won Miss Universe in 2012 while Philippine bet Janine Tugonon placed First Runner Up during that year.

Philippine bet Rabiya Mateo  finished her stint at the 69th Miss Universe early as one of the Top 21 failing to make it into the Top 10.

Rabiya hoped to become the fifth Filipina to win the Miss Universe crown after Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margarita Moran (1973) and Gloria Diaz (1969).

Andrea Meza of Mexico was crowned as the new Miss Universe followed by Brazil's Julia Gama as the 1st runner-up, Peru's Janick Maceta del Castillo as the 2nd runner-up, India's Adline Castelino as the 3rd runner-up, and Dominican Republic's Kimberly Jimenez as the 4th runner-up. —Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/JCB, GMA News
