Pinoys celebrate 123rd Independence Day with the funniest #rp612fic entries yet

This year's #rp612fic entries are all kinds of hilarious.

Maybe it's the quarantine, but Pinoys came armed with top tier memes and videos for the annual online celebration of the Philippines' Independence Day.

Here are some of the funniest entries so far:

1. The (fried towel) tinola.

2. The Battle of Mactan was probably this fierce.

3. The contemporary version of the Spoliarium.

4. Answer the question, (Anakin) America!

5. Better believe she spat fire.

6. Bet they were just as confused!

7. Bretman Rock is back with his annual appearance, and this time, he's with Lorde!

8. The initials say it all.

9. We could almost hear her voice.

10. This pun, though.

11. Okay, but the resemblance is uncanny.

12. Certainly looks painful.

Every June 12, Pinoys reimagine history with modern memes, posting them with the hashtag #rp612fic. Speculative fiction writer Paolo Chikiamco birthed it in 2009, to celebrate the Philippines' Independence Day.

And clearly, more than serving as a reminder of Philippine history, this is one of the days where Pinoy humor shines the brightest.
