Man proposes to girlfriend through their favorite online game ‘Genshin Impact’

“Genshin Impact” is now more than just an online game for this couple.

Ronica Cabansag shared on Facebook that her now fiancé Jerome Javillonar popped the question by making her play the game.

“He created some obstacles and maze sa game then doon niya sinulat yung gusto niyang sabihin,” she said. “Ang very creative kasi I know ang hirap gawin non.”

As seen in the photos, Ronica encountered several romantic phrases while playing the game, such as “roses are red,” “violets are blue,” and “forever is real with you.”

Finally, when she reached the last maze, she was surprised by the golden question spelled with bushes and flowers: “will [you] be my waifu?”

Ronica said she had an “intuition” about the surprise but she did not take it seriously, saying her partner was an introvert and not into romantic stuff.

However, Ronica was surprised to see that Jerome gave this much time and effort to his proposal.

Jerome, meanwhile, admitted that it took him more than a month to plan and finalize.

“Sobrang hirap kasing gawin ’yon. Per day, may [three] items lang na pwedeng bilhin sa shop ng game tapos kailangan pang i-harvest ang mga puno at mag-forge. Mahabang proseso po,” she told GMA News.

“After ko makapunta sa last question, pinaluhod ko na siya dala ang singsing. Ang cute lang kasi never ko pong naisip na magpo-propose siya sa ganoong paraan,” she added.

Ronica said she and Jerome had always loved playing online games together ever since they started working abroad. While she was in Dubai as a former flight attendant, he worked in Saudi Arabia.

After saying “yes” to Jerome, Ronica can now proudly say that she is entering a new chapter.

“Finally, I’m engaged to my ex-boyfriend who is now my fiancé,” she wrote on Facebook.
