Queen Elizabeth gets an adorable tribute from Paddington Bear

Queen Elizabeth passed away on Thursday, leaving the world in utter mourning.

As tributes poured out — from the Royal Family paying their respects, to Londoners singing "God Save The Queen," to world leaders issuing their statements and countless netizens posting their tributes — one particular tweet stood out from the rest.

Paddington Bear only had five words to say following the death of the longest reigning monarch. On Twitter, the beloved Londoner — originally from Peru and who always keeps marmalade sandwiches under his hat wrote, "Thank you Ma'am, for everything."

It was instantly a hit, resonating with thousands others on Twitter. As of writing, the simple tweet of gratitude already has nearly 120K retweets and more than 700K hearts.

It's a sweet gesture echoed what he told Her Majesty on their cute video shown during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations earlier this eyar.

"Happy Jubilee Ma’am. And thank you. For everything," the loveable bear told the Queen when they sat together for high tea and — you guessed it — marmalade sandwiches, which Paddinton kept underneath his hat and the Queen, in her famous purse.

Queen Elizabeth died at age 96 on Thursday, after serving the monarchy for seven decades. Her son Charles will ascend the throne and will be formally known as Charles III.

Allow us to echo Paddington Bear and say, "Thank you Ma'am, for everything."
