Meme-famous dog Kabosu diagnosed with leukemia
Kabosu, the Shiba Inu dog that's popular for her memes, has been diagnosed with leukemia.
The fur baby’s hooman Atsuko Sato shared the update on Instagram, saying that Kabosu has been doing better compared to previous days.
“Kabosu’s disease names are acute cholangiohepatitis and chronic lymphoma leukemia. Right now, the liver level is very bad and jaundice appears. But antibiotics will definitely improve,” the post said.
“Kabosu has an appetite. She can also drink water. To all of you who are worried, thank you very much," it added.
The diagnosis came after Kabosu lost appetite during Christmas Eve. According to an earlier post, she was brought to the hospital shortly after.
“Pumpkin has been sick since Christmas Eve. Not drinking or eating [by herself],” Sato said. “Pumpkin is in a very dangerous state right now. But it will be alright.”
Kabosu just turned 17 years old last November. She took social media by storm, when her photo looking playfully mischievous or wary of skepticism was used as a meme. Her identity was revealed in 2014.
Get well soon, Kabosu!
