Fur parent awes netizens after creating improvised wheelchair for his kitten

This fur parent from Negros Oriental created an improvised wheelchair for his kitten and awed netizens.

According to Kuya Kim's report on "24 Oras" Thursday, Clint Acosta made the wheelchair for Cling Cling, who has been disabled since he was born.

All in all, Clint has five cats and five dogs.

"Naghanap po siya ng mga old slippers tapos (may) dala na po siyang gunting," said Clint's girlfriend Krystle. "'Yon pala gumagawa na siya ng wheels. Nag-cut siya ng slippers into circles para sa kitten."

Clint said they plan to take Cling Cling to the vet when they have extra money. Thankfully, Krystle said the kitten has shown progress ever since he got used to the wheelchair.

Meanwhile, there are a lot of ways to help animals that can't walk. One of these is using orthosis or a medical device that is attached to the body to support the animal's muscles.

There's also prosthesis which is used as a substitute for the missing body part.

In Mandaluyong, there's a company that makes prosthetic legs for dogs using 3D printing technology.

"We do the scanning. Scanning is digitizing the physical form into digital form. We have a 3D scanner if you want to scan the head or face that you can digitize," said 3D2Go President Frederick Chua.

"Once you have a digital model, we can do the designing. Mayroon ka nang 3D model. We now make the 3D into something that's applicable for the animal, so we design it."

From scanning, modeling, and printing, the process of making a prosthetic leg may take two weeks.
